Lincoln County is a county located in the U.S. state of Montana. As of 2000, the population was 18,837. Its county seat is Libby. Formerly part of Flathead County, the residents of Libby and Eureka petitioned the state legislature for separation. Named for Abraham Lincoln, the county was created in 1909. Libby won out an election over Eureka to host the county seat.
